Saboot Moth/Matki Dry

1 cup Moth (soaked overnight)

2 tsp Chili powder

1/2 tsp Turmeric powder

1 tsp Coriander powder

Salt to taste

3 cups Water

1 tbsp Oil

A pinch of Asafoetida

Handful freshly chopped coriander


  1. Soak moth/ matki overnight. Wash and keep aside

  2. Heat oil in a wok. Add asafoetida

  3. Add soaked moth/matki, chilly, turmeric and coriander powder followed by salt and water. Close the lid and cook on slow flame

  4. Stir occasionally. Cook till moth/matki are soft

  5. Sprinkle freshly chopped coriander and serve hot with Chapati
