Phool gobi sabzi

Small Cauliflower

1/2 cup Green peas

1 medium size Tomatoes

2 1/2 tsp Chili powder

1/2 tsp Turmeric powder

1 tsp Coriander powder

1 tbsp Oil

1 1/2 cup Water

A pinch Asafoetida

Handful Freshly chopped coriander

Salt to taste


  1. Cut cauliflower into small florets and wash; cut tomatoes into small cubes and if green peas are frozen thaw them

  2. Heat oil, add asafoetida followed by washed cauliflower florets and green peas

  3. Add chili and turmeric powder, salt, 1/2 cup water and mix well. Close the wok and let it cook on medium heat. Occasionally keep stirring. Add more water if you think it too dry and cauliflower is yet to be cooked.

  4. When cauliflower looks almost cooked add tomatoes and coriander powder. Mix well and let it cook for 5 min.

  5. Sprinkle freshly chopped coriander and take it off the heat

  6. Serve it hot with hot chapatis or puri

Suggestions: You can add potatoes to this dish as well.
