Goan french beans

Ingredients:
250gms French beans
1 medium size Chopped onion
1/4 cup Bengal gram split and skinned
1/2 cup Grated fresh coconut
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
2 Green chilies (slit)
5 to 6 Curry leaves
Salt to taste
1 tbsp Oil
1 tsp Mustard seeds
2 cups Water
Method:
Wash and soak bengal gram in warm water for about 15 to 20 min or you can choose to soak it over night as well.
Cut beans finely and wash it well
Chop onions
Heat oil in a deep wok, add mustard seeds. Once they splutter add slit chilies, curry leaves and chopped onions. Sauté for a minute.
Add french beans, turmeric, salt and water. Close the wok and let it cook. Periodically check if bengal gram is cooked.
Once bengal gram and french beans is cooked, add grated coconut and mix well. Let all water get evaporated.
Serve with Chapati or rice and dal
